In the coming months Camelford residents and business people will be involved in creating a Neighbourhood Plan (NP). The completed document will have legal standing and will help to encourage the right kind of development for our community.
The production of a Neighbourhood Plan is weighted towards public participation and community participation. This means there will be a number of consultation events to gather opinions; local people will have the opportunity to help develop policies and then vote in a referendum to adopt the document.
A Neighbourhood Plan outlines desired land usage across the parish. For example Camelford is likely to need to facilitate around 250 new dwellings by 2030; a Neighbourhood Plan will help our community describe what types of houses are needed and plot where they should go in our parish. Policies on issues such as employment and traffic can also be included.
In this first step we are considering what issues are most important to people, and are asking everyone to fill out the survey below. You can share this survey with your friends and family by copying and pasting this link:
Please note: We are building a team of residents to act as a steering committee to develop the Camelford Neighbourhood Plan so if you would like to participate please contact the Town Clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
