CTC are delighted to inform you that the OCM Regeneration Project will be going ahead as it now has ALL the funding required. This is a five-year £300k project, with the capital regeneration monies raised from grant funding. A huge thanks to Reaching Communities Big Lottery Grant, Sport England and Saputo for making this project possible. A consultation will start in the Spring to finalise the design. It currently includes more skate-able/ride-able space, extra low boxes for skaters/scooters, a parkour area, mutli-ball games area, outside gym equipment, community gardens and a cafe/youth hub. CTC will be going out to tender for the cafe, which will be in the form of a converted container unit and provide crepes, hot and cold drinks and ice creams (as per the consultation that was done in 2019). CTC has also secured funding for a youth outreach worker, and it is the hope that whoever runs the cafe will also head up the OCM Skatepark Club and deliver youth work, in line with the priorities set out in our grant applications. It is hoped to start work in June/July with completion in August/September.
