Enfield Park is going to get a makeover thanks to the Great Western Railway (GWR) Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF) Grant of £35k secured by Camelford Town Council. In addition to this much needed boost in funds, s106 monies from local development and matched funding by Camelford Town Council have meant that this much loved park will get much needed new equipment, whilst celebrating and promoting the heritage of Camelford Station, which was once part of the historic North Cornwall Railway line. Station signs will be incorporated into the play experience to depict the journey from Halwill Junction to Padstow (finishing at the boat) There will also be an installation of photographic and information boards, giving information about the history of Camelford Station and the railway line, with a link to more information for adults wishing to know more.
After going to tender, 3 designs have been chosen by the Town Council, which will now go to the public to vote on. This can be done via Facebook, Twitter, coming into the Library or here on the website. Message the Town Council with your preferred design. CLOSING DATE 20 June!
The designs chosen are by 3 companies
Schoolscapes, Wicksteed and Creative Play.
Get involved and have your say! We hope work to start in around 10 weeks time.
