Churchfield Car Park was bought from North Cornwall District Council for £140,000. It was not gifted. CTC is paying back a public works loan at £9725 until 2029. A full review of management, enforcement, current and future needs/capacity, legalities, funding and maintenance was undertaken in 2017/2018 in order to make a cost effective ‘fresh start’. Following extensive public consultation (in which 58% were in favour of charging), car park charges came into force in 2019. However, the first 2 hours are FREE and then 50p per hour after the free period expires.

How do I renew my existing permit?
Unless your circumstances have changed (e.g. changed your car, address or place of work (if a business permit)) CTC will not require evidence of your address or workplace. Just visit the library during our usual opening times and we can issue your new permit.
What happens if I change my car?
Let us know of any vehicle changes by visiting the library during our usual opening times where you will be issued with a new permit, a £10 admin fee will apply.
