Having lived in Camelford for 16 years, following my retraining to become a teacher at Bath Spa (also a Cornish linked University), I continue to have, as I always have had, a hankering towards community and community spirit. This has been shown in that we are immersed in community – I have taught in Camelford Primary and many schools in North Cornwall as a supply teacher, and mainstream teacher, and also in Adult Ed here in Camelford as well as across Cornwall. I continued with the community spirit with teaching many of my out of school and Adult Ed classes – quill pen making, Cornish language and website design being just a few. Now as part of the council I intend to carry on supporting community spirit – not least of which as being one of the flag makers for Saint Piran’s! Kernow Bys Vyken, ha Kyfyth Kensa!
